[2017 Event Email] Packet Pickup Information

The following information was sent in an email to all participants on 5/13. Some of the links may not work because they are linked directly to your registration profile in the RunSignUp system. 


Packet pickup for the 2017 Typhoon Texas Kids Triathlon begins on Thursday, 5/18! Please remember that unless you purchased Race Morning Packet Pickup you MUST PICK UP YOUR CHILD's PACKET AT ONE OF THE TIMES LISTED BELOW.  If you would like to purchase race morning packet pickup you can do so through your RunSignUp profile under the add-ons tab or by clicking here

PACKET PICKUP LOCATION AND SCHEDULE

  • Thursday 5/18 - 3pm to 7pm
  • Friday 5/19 - 12pm to 7pm
  • Saturday 5/20 - 12pm to 7pm

Please note that lines tend to be longest at the beginning of each day. Our team will be working diligently to get everyone through the line in the quickest way possible. Please be courteous to other participants and those that have volunteered their time to help make the event a success. 

PACKET PICKUP PROCEDURE

To expedite the packet pickup process please bring your event confirmation email (or this email) with your custom QR/bar code so we can scan your child in. A printed copy is not necessary, you can have the QR/bar code up on your phone screen. If you have it on your phone please make sure the brightness is set to max for easy scanning. 

When its your turn please have your photo identification and QR code ready. If you are not prepared you may be asked to stand aside while you gather your items. 

USA TRIATHLON PACKET PICKUP RULES

Per USAT rules, only legal guardians of a minor 17 years old or younger may pick up a packet for a registered participant. You must show legal photo identification. We DO NOT need your child's USA Triathlon Membership Card or proof of one-day membership purchase. Verification of member is handled by our registration platform, RunSignUp. 

For relays, only one member of the relay team need to pick up the race packets. 

PACKET PICKUP ITEMS

Your child's race packet will include:

  • 1 timing chip per registered child or relay team
  • 1 timing chip strap per registered child or relay team
  • 1 race bib
  • 1 sticker sheet with bike and helmet stickers
  • 1 swim cap
  • 2 TriTats race number temporary tattoos
  • 1 TriTats "L" or "S" temporary tattoo (indicating Short or Long course)
  • 1 summer fun pack per registered participant which includes: event shirt, full-size beach towel, water bottle, and sunglasses in a shoulder cinch bag
  • 1 wristband with your child's race number to be worn by the parent or guardian that will be claiming your child in the Kid Corral
  • 1 Typhoon Texas Waterpark wristband for your child's admission in the Waterpark after the race.

If you pre-purchased additional Waterpark tickets these will also be included in your child's race packet. Additional tickets may be purchased on race morning at the Typhoon Texas Waterpark ticket window after the race. 

Before leaving packet pickup, please double check to make sure you have everything and that the numbers match your child's assigned race number. The items that should have matching numbers include the race bib, sticker sheet, timing chip, TriTats race tattoos, and Kid Corral wristband. If you get home and realize you are missing something please contact our Packet Pickup Coordinator using the form on the packet pickup page on the race website.  

You CANNOT change your shirt size at packet pickup. Because we order everything far in advance and base our orders off your selections during registration, changes made at packet pickup may results in someone else not receiving what they ordered. Please be respectful of this. If you wish to exchange an item you may try to do so after the event at the volunteer check-in tent near the transition area.
